“Elements", my new collection is out now!

I’m delighted to announce my brand new sheet music book Elements - A selection of hand-picked pieces to inspire intermediate pianists.

This stand-alone book, Elements, contains two of the simplest pieces from each of my four albums, as well as two new compositions written with less experienced pianists in mind. To help you get started, suggested fingering has been added to these editions of the pieces.

The talented Millie Moth has once again created some beautiful artwork for me. As well as designing the cover illustration, she has cleverly weaved in colours from each of my album covers to represent the chosen pieces and give a visual coherence to the series.

Elements is priced at just £12.50, and when you spend £20 or more in my online store there is free UK postage, where it can be digitally downloaded too.  The book is also available from Margin Music in Macclesfield and Forsyths in Manchester.

Perfect for pianists grades 4-5 - if you were looking to begin playing my piano music, then Elements is a great place to start.

Elements has just been chosen as a finalist for The Art of Piano Education awards. It’s the only self published book on the shortlist, so thank you to everyone who has supported me. The final is at the Royal Albert Hall in May!

Adrian%20Lord

About Adrian

Adrian Lord is a classical British pianist and composer, based in the historic market town of Knutsford.

Born and bred in Cheshire, Adrian studied at the world renowned Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, before honing his craft at Colchester Institute’s School of Music. Here, he studied composition with Alan Bullard and Christopher Ball, and won the Canon Jack award for Piano Performance under the tuition of Martin Hughes and Robert Bell.

In 2016 Adrian released his debut album, ‘Journey – Twelve Romances for Piano’. A mesmerising reflection of his inspirational journey as a composer, the album was recorded at Crear – a dramatic location on the west coast of Scotland.

‘Sky Blue Piano’, his second album, was recorded on a return visit to Crear. Released in 2018, it features 12 original, uplifting pieces.

His third album, ‘Piano Meditations’ was released in 2021 and is a collection of calming compositions, played with an unhurried feel and a relaxed approach to time.

Adrian’s latest release, ‘Piano Postcards’ features ten new, beautiful tracks, inspired by some of his favourite locations. Each ‘postcard’ is a stunning musical interpretation of a place that he loves, interspersed with his own treasured memories of being there.

As with his earlier albums, it’s available both on CD and as a beautifully bound collection of sheet music for aspiring pianists.

With a joyful, melodic style that his listeners describe as tranquil and relaxing, Adrian is a regular on the concert circuit, performing at venues across the UK. He spends much of his time composing new pieces on a reconditioned 1929 Bechstein grand piano, which is his pride and joy.

During the pandemic, he won new followers through twice-weekly Facebook Lives. Described as a “must-watch” online piano performance by Pianist magazine, it was a wonderful opportunity for Adrian to connect with his listeners and help them relax.

With a lifelong love of music, which spans the decades (and genres), Adrian loves everything from classical pieces to progressive rock and cites Beethoven, Brahms, Jeff Lynne and Rick Wakeman (who he had the great pleasure of meeting at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester) as his main musical influences.

A keen walker and explorer, nature is an endless source of inspiration for Adrian. His favourite places include the stunning Scottish Islands and the breathtaking Lake District, where to date he has climbed 192 of the 214 Wainwright Fells.
